Very disappointing how the fire started, should never of happened.
    will keep you posted.

Had a look at it yesterday and there is some damage behind the engine on the firewall.
Engine will need to come out, and the dry chem powder from the extinguisher has made a mess

Bloke from the customer care referred to it as a "Thermal incident"
    Fuggin' corporate mumbo jumbo
Surprised they didn't tell you the internal combustion engine encountered some external combustion or due to an undocumented feature a thermal incident occurred which resulted in external combustion.

you have to laugh. if you don't you'll go mad........
    hope it gets resolved promptly

Our new supervisor speaks in that way, good for a laugh at first but sometimes you just want to shake the c**t and yell "TALK LIKE A NORMAL PERSON"

I'm meant to hear something by Tuesday.

Well that was a long stressful process.

Today I picked up my replacement ute.

I cannot thank GMH enough, they really did go above and beyond.

I cannot say the same about the dealer.

Since GMH have done right by me I will not go into details, but if you find yourself in a similar situation don't lose your cool, be patient, follow appropriate channels of complaint/problem resolution, there will be someone in whatever company it is that can help you.

GMH were, and are great to deal with.

Love my ute, very happy to be back behind the wheel of a V8 Holden!

Great result mate. These stories don't always end as well as yours. Good on you for your persistence and not settling for an unsatisfactory result.

Great to see a good outcome, and great to see you acknowledge that. Many don't.
I'm sure that it was an unfortunate incident that every party involved wished hadn't happened, but it did, and at least GM have come to the party.
    Good work
A grumpy old bugga who has been there and done that...
