    Change of plans.

    Hi all.
Its been a while since my last post...hell since my last visit actually.
I got a chance to get my ultimate dream car so after a lot of hoops to jump through I sold, no, GAVE, the R8 away - as you do with used cars in general.
    2003 R8 Clubby, as new condition, only 29,000km, 366kw ATW, M112 etc.
Its now got a good home with a fella who is finally using it for what I should have and its now 420kw and 918Nm ATW.
I wont forget it ever, my first new car that I paid for, not like a lot of wankers who put it through their business etc.
Anyhow I finally scored a real Supercar - 2004 Lamborghini Gallardo.
It has all the bits the R8 should of had - all wheel drive, braided brake hoses, 8 pot front calipers, massive discs, dry sump engine, 295/30/19 P Zero's ( rear ), 8000rpm
redline, sequential paddle shift gearbox, active rear spoiler...etc.
Sure the Lambo cost a 'little' more than a new GTS but the GTS will be worth nothing in a couple of months time and I cant stand the back end of the VF Commodore and, like everyone tells me..."Mate, its just a Commodore with some fast shiny bits added to it".
Trust me, I miss the lopy rumble of the R8 but when the Lambo V10 opens up.....FAAAAARK ME!!!
People stop, drool, drive on the wrong side of the road, get out their camera's and generally turn to idiots when you drive by or park up.
It was hard to keep the R8 in a straight line in the dry but I trust the Lambo 100% in the wet and yes, there is a big difference in power outputs and delivery between the two cars but the Lambo wins my vote hands down.
It's a shame the car industry has turned to custard, we will always have the memories of the V8 Supercars of 'old' and the true rivalries of the original Ford VS Holden
    championship.

I drove one whilst at the Lamborghini factory at Sant' Agata in 2013
    and couldn't agree more.

one problem though..... can't see a Lambo towing the race car which my R8 does with aplomb

Not to mention servicing & parts costs also! Not all people who buy company cars are "Wankers"!

no-one drives a Lambo for its towing ability

Sorry, exactly why are you a wanker if you purchase a vehicle through the business? And you are comparing what "was" a half a million dollar car against your 2003 R8 Clubsport? Righto... That's like me comparing my R1 to my Harley, they are different vehicles completely.
Anyway I am glad you enjoy how everybody stares at the car and takes photos as you sound like a guy that needs that kind of assurance.
The only wanker on here is you champ.

Yea parts are insanely expensive, luckily I can service it myself.
Also I was a bit harsh on the Wanker thing.
The thing is I used to be a poorly paid car mechanic and when I rocked up to the HSV Nats with 'MY' ride and alot of the other brand new cars there were leased or registered to peoples companies it used to piss me off.
Call me compensating for something if you will but at least I'm no bloody SHOWBOAT.
