Could drop it on the mounts a bit as well if you really had to

Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question BUT I'm running 10psi through a Harrop Stealth Force 2300 and was wondering if a enclosed pod filter will make a difference to how loud the charger whine is?

I thought id get mine up here.

Heres a quick vid of it running. The Iphone doesn't pick the sound up to well.

Still got some things to fix up/add, mainly a catch can, vz radiator or ase header tank, and power steering resivour location and type. Ive already had a proflow one that did nothing but aerate the fluid, and some holley valve covers to get rid of the coil brackets.

Supercharged... Always wanted a Supercharged V8.. There is just something about it..

I'm running an MP1900 that's got upgraded pulley and runs around 12PSI of boost.. Changed cam to a 216/240 @ 118LSA... In tank twin fuel pumps.. Plod around town making no boost and no supercharger whine.. 4th gear @ 60km/h, lean on the throttle and that whine comes in you're pushed back into the seat... 100km/h comes up really quick..

    This is mine...

Re: Supercharged your LS Engine? Any regrets

Where do I start , I bought my VE SS new in 2007 as a 6l manual , and from the start I knew I needed some more poke , so I went down the usual exhaust , OTR tune path , eventually realising I needed more Power & Torque.
After 4 years I started on the road to a blower.
I started with an upgraded trans from the std T56 to a TR6060 , a HSV 427 Clutch pressure plate and flywheel
next thing was upgrade the brakes , Harrop monster kit 4 piston front and rear on 355mm rotors. New USA sourced 25% stronger drive shafts.
Next the diff , left the 3.45 gears set in and added a Eton Tru-Trak diff centre , works as an open wheeler normally and applies great traction when needed also able to handle the intended power output
as an extra to this we removed the crush spacer in the pinion and made up a spacer to set preload and stop the crush washer from loosening up with the pounding that was to come. (thanks to TRANSTEER @ Glynde)
Next was a set of Pedder's spots rider shocks and SuperPro suspension bushes to the cradle and trailing arms and sway bars (to help stop the axle tramp).
SO onto the blower , I sourced a Harrop 2300 blower from Harrop with the 8pk pulley upgrade including a 10% overdrive crank pulley and an 85mm blower pulley for 12lbs of boost
also from Harrop a set of long tube 1 7/8th" extractors , a ZL1 fuel pump upgrade (in tank) , a full 3" Harrop exhaust .
From Crane I sourced a cam 216 224 .551 .551 (lift is about .580 with the 1.8 roller rockers) 115 LSA mild blower friendly selection.
also from Crane a set of .600" beehive springs and 1.8:1 Roller Rockers.

This was fitted and tuned at Willall Racing (thanks to Gareth for all his hard work and advice) , the tune up is to be finished this week. (I will post pics and dyno charts l8r)

I have some photos but am struggling to make them appear on this post (any advice appreciated).

Hope this info helps the OP and as a final note it is like a big kitten to drive until your right foot presses the loud pedal then it gets rather crazy rather quickly

Agree. But when you have a VE or something fairly new just do what I did.... Keep it! Spend money on it again, new wheels, suspension, hell change the colour if youw ant and fall in love with it again!
I realised mine just wasn't selling for what I needed so I decided to keep it

Re: Supercharged your LS Engine? Any regrets

Now here's a topic I can contribute too!
I have a stock LS1 ( only valve springs have been done from what I read in the receipts) that has a LS112 Harrop top mount on it.
All of the work was done by the previous owner who farmed it all out to THR here in Adelaide.
THR are another subject so we will leave that there for the time being......
I wanted something blown as my dad and I are detailing the ute to death after finishing the HD. Its our way of connecting as he has terminal prostate cancer.
Now after all that I would have to say.......WOW! is really the only word I can use to explain the power from the blower.
The cool thing is once it plants you in the seat the harder you push in the revs the harder it pushes you back in the seat....there is no wall to hit with a blower! the harder you push the harder it pushes back!
as for fuel economy, well if you are thinking about a blower then you obviously realise there is going to be a increase in consumption. I find if I keep the gear changes below 2000rpm then it is pretty good on fuel around town.
On the open road is a different beast all together! I have driven the rocket at about 115-120 in 6th for a couple of hundred K's straight and at the end of it she had used less that a 1/4 of a tank and still had 520ks to empty according to the computer in the car.
Overtaking is great fun too and safer as you can get the job done quick and slow back down again, Overtaking is something I have not done for years as the TD42 turbo diesel in my GU aint that nippy
So...regrets........nope none at all, glad I grabbed it as it was what I wanted to build with dad but all the hard work was done.......Well most of the work was done well......

    Steve.

    .
Yeah, I still get around 8-9l/100 on the Freeway in 6th (A6 with 3:45 gears) in a cammed and Blown 6ltr, but around town with average speed of 34kmh I am up in the 18-19 zone. Worth it though.

that sounds about right. mine has a 3.9 KAAZ diff centre in it so it works a bit harder and I have to swap cogs a bit more often.
