Best Courier for 4 Rims/Tyres from Sydney to Melbourne?

Have just purchased 4 effectively brand new 20" rims and tyres and need to get them down from Sydney to Melbourne.

Time is not important - doesn't really matter how long (within reason of course - a week or two fine).

The most important thing is care in delivery so they are not marked or damaged in any way. Secondary consideration of course is cost but definitely not just looking for the cheapest if they can't be trusted.

Who have people used lately and how did you rate their service? Not necessarily just for rims but for anything large and prone to damage? I can't really control how well they're wrapped/packed.

    Thanks,
    Wonks

If you cant find a forum member to wrap/strap them on a pallet for you wonks.
get the seller to drop them off at a local pack and send.
ive used them in the past for a set of recaro's and the store did a great job wrapping/strapping them to a skid i then got them sent to a local pack and send down here where i picked them up (was cheaper store to store)

    Gaz
I bought 4 new R spec semislick tyres for the race car 3 weeks ago from a Sydney tyre dealer
they added $60 to the purchase price for 'shipping via their choice of courier'

The tyres turned up 3 days after purchase on a wooden skid, very well wrapped in black plastic/shrinkwrap stuff
    ... via Toll!

No complaints from me on this score.... I do like the Pack and Send comment above though

In the end decided on one of the Pack and Send options I priced (Balmain). Des there was extremely helpful answering all my queries and as a car guy himself (ex ls1.com.au member) assured me all would be good. The seller has been awesome from the outset and dropped them off there plus took photographs of each before they were packed.

Picking up at destination only cheaper for private individuals, so delivery to my favourite tyre store Motorsport no different to picking them all up myself at Pack and Send's Dandenong branch.

Gaz the wheel studs on that poor car won't have any threads left on them soon

You change wheels on your cars more often than someone who runs a mag wheel shop!

Nah, that was Mike the previous owner. I've only had the rims that were on it when I got it from him and my current shadow chrome SV alloys. These new rims are identical to them but have brand new Bridgestone tyres, the idea being to put them on the Senator and sell the current ones thus effectively ending up with 4 brand new rims and tyres for very little changeover. My current rims are totally unmarked but the tyres have been on for a while (maybe 20,000km?).

Des at Pack and Send Balmain was brilliant!! They all arrived in perfect condition and as described.

Unfortunately I was expecting to have 4 perfect nick SV alloys to sell on but it appears someone (I honestly didn't think it was me ) has guttered one slightly around most of the circumference (only noticeable closer up) and my wife dropped one getting it out of her car and of course it landed face down on the pebblecrete on our driveway.
