Whats a good laptop under $1000

Whats a good laptop for under 1k not into gaming just surfing the net and for business
Let me no ur thoughts

.. I bought my partners and youngest daughter (for her business)
mid range HP laptops

8gb ram 250SSDs 15.6 screens i5 processor
plus all the usual card reader wifi etc

one from the Pavilion range, the other from the Probook range
the daughters Probook was $820 and my partners Pavilion $670

all came with Win 10 (it was just after it came out)

no issues or problems... they just work

Yeah agreed HP is good.

I have one and girlfriend has one as well.

I have had such a good run with them I would certainly buy another HP product again without hesitation.

Had mine quite a few years, could possibly be due for upgrading but it does everything I need.

Sorry can't remember for certain & it's at her place at the moment, it runs Windows 10

If you're spending under $1000 you won't go wrong with HP.

Generally we work on the following rules:

Under $1000
-HP

$1000 - $2000
- HP
- Toshiba
- Lenovo

$2000+
- Lenovo
- Microsoft (Surface)

We won't ever buy:
- Dell
- Asus
- Samsung
- Fujitsu
- MSI

Now this may seem strange but to put it into context we find Toshiba make pretty average sub $1000 laptops but their mid range stuff is pretty good. On the other hand Lenovo do excellent $2000+ laptops but their mid/low range ones aren't anything special.

Personally I agree... with one exception and that also applies at work. Work LOVES Dell !!
Over 350 of them amongst the staff from the CEO down. We don't seem to have any issues with them
( I have not had any computer/laptop issues with them.. all issues have been OS/software related)
I am one of the approval authorities for new computer stuff...and the only replacements are for those 4 years +
or
the inevitable driveoffs ( ya know, ppl put them on their car roofs when they unlock the car ... and well yeah crunch!)
'bout 30 of those a year (bloody reps are the worst) although our Vic Production manager now has a rep... 2 this year!
