Off Topic, but its good to see Holden/GM Powertrain relocated the alternator on the LS9 to be up high instead of being below the leak prone power steering reservoir like the LS1.

After the early enthusiasm wears off I think W1 prices will settle back down, a recession will do the job, some pretty hot and fast money flying around the collectable car caper.

I struggle to see the W1 being collectable as a HK-HG Monaro, many more young guys back in 1968-71 aspired to owning a Monaro back then, and now have the money to buy one. Nowhere near as many young guys care about a hot Holden these days so its hard to see the same level of demand in thirty years time.

    Cheers, Matthew
I spent most of my money on unreliable cars and less reliable women, the rest I wasted.

Holden had absolutely nothing to do with the LS9. I don't believe they even fit them let alone had anything to do with relocating ancillaries. I thought HSV removed the LSA and fitted the LS9, similar to what happened with the W427. All LS9's have the alternator up there.

It's hard to say what will happen with prices as there won't be anything similar available and it's the last hurrah. Even if the Corvette ends up here, it's a totally different vehicle.

My VF2 has elec servo assist power steering so no pump or atf! Reckon the GTSR would be the same. The VE2 was the last commy to have a dyabolic system
