VX GTS Shift light

Hi All,
I noticed last weekend out on a drive in my VX GTS with the factory shift light, it is coming on at just under 4000RPM. Has anyone come across this?

That's way too early, has someone played with your Cluster/programming recently?
On my VZ have set it to 5500 which is good.

VX GTS when cold think temps below 75 degree it will beep at 3000rpm, then once warm is 6200rpm from memory

That could be it, may not have been up to temp, I am thinking this car does not have a thermostat, it seems to take forever to warm up.

Just checked my oem tune.

Cold engine RPM limit is 4000rpm up to 85degreesC

Warm engine RPM limit is 6050rpm in first gear, 6200rpm in second gear, 6300 in third and fourth gears, respectively.

Wayne, I would fixing that thermostat problem urgently as bee hive springs have been known for failing

if an engine is revved too much before it's up to normal temperature.

Cheers mate, I am planning on looking at it this week, I have barely driven it lately, so hopefully done no damage.

Pulled the thermostat out today, spring is not broken, but there is a black rubber looking seal around the inlet opening that has bits hanging off it, could be the problem?
