Since i wrote my comment above I have read an article in Motor seems there will be plenty of after market stuff available
Red Hot M6 VE SS Ute. Curves yes please on my women and my road.
I wasn't too long ago that Ford were in the same position with their converted Mustangs. FPV rolled them out the door for $85k-90k depending on whether or not you optioned a roof. At the same time, you could grab a Monaro in the mid-$50k range or something from the HSV range for not too much more.
I think we'll find that history will repeat itself with the Australian-converted models being far superior to their factory-fresh American brothers.

I had a friend bought one of the new mustangs...which are everywhere.... he regrets it as more often than not when parked and stationary someone in the group will ask him if it has the 4 cylinder eco motor in it...
Of course the Mustang has been a HUGE success for Ford Aus, I think in the Ford range it's only outsold by Ranger in Aus?
But, I've heard & read about several issues re build quality & panel fit. Notwithstanding this, it's a big sales success worldwide, and for the life of me I can't understand why GM haven't followed suit with RHD Camaro........even at this time, I've heard nothing "GM Official" that this is to happen.

I'd also love to know why the new gen Camaro was engineered LHD only. If anything, my opinion, HSV has just pulled GMs engineers pants down with the relative* ease they've been able to do the conversion - the cost to factor in RHD at factory levels would be minimal, they would have slapped an Australia tax on them with the benefit of being able to sell into other regions.
Anyways, there's probably a reason I sit on the long side of the table rather than the end...
It's still based on the Alpha platform which has been around since 2013 in the Caddy's and still has a couple of years left to run. The Alpha 2 or A2XX is due in the Caddy range in 2020 and hopefully allows RHD. The Gen 7 Camaro would be a little after that as the Gen 6 should run for 3-4 years. Looking at possibly 2022-2023 for a factory RHD.
GM won't go thru all the hoops again to re-engineer a base platform for such a short time period so our only hope is that the next platform is RHD friendly.
I read HSV invested around $10M to make the Camaro possible. Given their small expected numbers over potentially 2-3 years, I can see how they're costing as much as they are.
Be fairly unhappy if you paid the price for one of these then they released a new model which was $20k cheaper factory rhd 12 months later.![]()
Absolutely. Same goes for those that have purchased private/small volume imports and still asking top dollar for 4-5 year old cars. They would have paid a lot more than HSV's versions and the conversion won't be as nice.

Saw one of these yesterday coming out of City Holden at Hillcrest. Was a lightish blue with white bonnet and fairly big rims, looked very nice imo. Had a fair bit of presence. If you put a Mustang side by side with it, the Stang would be invisible I reckon. Could have done with a bit more noise, so exhaust upgrade would have been my first stop.
