"The Yamaha Motor Finance Australian Superbike Championship presented by Motul Pirelli (ASBK) is excited to announce an enormous step forward for road racing in the Asia Pacific region in 2018. The FIM Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) will head down under for an inaugural Australian round. The ARRC and ASBK will join forces at the newly created and amazing, The Bend Motorsport Park on 19-22 April for round three of ASBK.

This is a great development for ASBK and shows the championship is on the rise and is grabbing attention from all over the world. Motorcycling Australia (MA) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Peter Doyle couldn’t be happier with the expansion of the championship and knows just how much work has gone in to bring ARRC to our shores.

Bringing the ARRC to Australia is something that has been in MA’s plans since 2014 and to finally get them is a huge boost for our ASBK championship. A lot of work has gone on behind the scenes and this has just topped off what was a great 2017 season for ASBK as we reached new levels with audiences via attendance, Television and live streaming.

Former World Superbike Champion and ASBK ambassador Troy Bayliss echoed MA CEO Peter Doyle’s positivity about ARRC joining ASBK in South Australia.

Having Australia join the FIM Asia Road Racing Championship will provide another pathway for Australian riders to compete at an international level which is fantastic for the development of the sport.

FIM Asia Road Racing Championship will mark their first appearance in Australia at The Bend Motorsport Park. It also marks ASBK’s first visit to South Australia since 2009.

With two championships on the roster, you get four days of racing! Free entry on Thursday!

The Bend Motorsport Park is one of the most significant developments in Australian motorsport history. A state-of-the-art, world-class motorsport facility. The Bend will deliver an exhilirating experience for competitors, enthusiasts and spectators alike.

The Bend’s International Circuit’s 18 turns are designed to encourage thrilling racing with corners offering passing opportunities and innovative racing lines.

    Went to "The Bend" yesterday,

was great to see a wide range of Aussie Muscle Cars

Had a great view standing at the fence along pit lane on the main straight watching the cars coming past me about 15 feet away
some of them doing well over 100mph.

The entrants only paid $40 each to drive on the track.

Some of them were just going gently round all the curvy parts then giving it heaps along the main straight but that was certainly the place to be & watch.

There were some quick cars there.

Will have to take my son's 360 Charger out when it's finished, possibly in 2020.

The complex is still not complete but it's very well done & will have plenty of world class features.
They are building a hotel, camping grounds & drag strip.

Yeah, I thought you might have been having problems seeing it that's why I had to ask?

(It's also pretty overcast & wet at one point in the video so not sure if you might have been joking.)

It's obviously been up for a while & have not heard anyone else say they can't see it.
