    Good Workshop in Brisbane

    Good Evening All

I am after suggestions for a good workshop in Brisbane to have a look at the Grange.

Before anyone says Powertorque, they normally look after the Grange and I tried but they are booked out.

I would like to drive the Grange to Melbourne in about 3 weeks but I think I have a vacuum leak as I keep getting the below error codes
P0171 - Fuel Trim System too lean bank 1
    P2270 - O2 sensor lean/rich switch signal malfunction Bank 1 sensor 2
    P2272 - O2 sensor lean/rich switch signal malfunction Bank 2 sensor 2

Do any locals have any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance

Go to Cam Mclean in Queens Road Everton Hills. (Yes the same one who rolled a Porsche a million times at QR years ago)

They've been servicing my GTS for years. They're old racing buddies with Mark from PT.

I took Mark's advice and gave Steve a call today, he can fit it in next week and I can catch the train from there to work

Good stuff, did you ever end up getting your LPG issues sorted out on the Grange?

    Thanks for the reply,
what was the problem with it,
how many litres per hundred kms
& what are your thoughts power wise?

(Been interested in hearing reviews of the LPI systems for a while.)

There is a connector on the firewall that links the LPi Pump in the tank to the LPi ECU. The connector in this was not pushed together fully. Evey time it got hot it disconnected and the LPi stopped working.

I took the car to an LPG guy in Brisbane the old limo guys used and he was able to find and repair it.

The LPi is great, it sometimes gives a misfire when changing over, but no noticeable change in power or driveability. I don't drive it much these days as I now have a company car.

I am going to drive it to the 2019 HSCCA Statesman Nationals. My mother has a HQ statesman (202 column shift trimatic) so we thought we should take to old and the new down for a look.

Glad to hear the barge is firing on all cylinders again.

Note that I get a few P0171/P0174 errors in the Senator as well. Have since the day I got it but there's no leaks to be found.

    Re: Good Workshop in Brisbane

Well, all didn't go as planned. I got to the statesman show and had a look at the cars that arrived. A lot of Melbourne cars were a no show due to bad weather.

The day after the show I was on my way to a friend's place and the car won't start. It was another dead fuel pump. I advised the workshop that was changing the pump that this is the 3rd fuel pump that has been needed since 2014 so he went looking for the problem. I had a burnt wiring harness to the pump. We think this could have caused the following pumps to burn out due to voltage drop. Hopefully, this is the last pump change now.

    Re: Good Workshop in Brisbane

Have read before that failure of later model VE/WM fuel pumps is actually caused by the wiring loom and connectors, hence why so many fail. Holden apparently have released a new loom???
