Current GTS-R (not W1) pricing WTF!

Wasn't expecting to see the current crazy asking prices for these so soon, are they selling or opportunists? the world has gone mad..

Their the usual Dreamers IMO...

One lemmings puts a crazy price out there, then all the other lemmings follow suit with their Never Never land prices, making them all feel good, only to find the phone never rings and all they can hear is crickets.

Just check the adds over the next few weeks, and if most / all the same cars are still there asking their insanity prices still, it's a clear indicator their asking too much.

I know the person selling the bronze GTSR for $157K is - nice tidy profit for her but aiming to buy a C8.

We own a GTSR, didn't order/buy one upon their release, they sort of grew on me, "The last of the last" I thought, so we bought one, white auto, with sunroof, spare & cover.
Never thought about its value when we bought it, but when the Virus hit I thought its value would hit the floor. But it hasn't, but it's not only GTSRs, it's all sorts of HSVs, & many other cars. I can't understand it in the current economic environment, but for sure the value of Aussie V8s seems to be pretty good. Someone paid $335K for a VS GTSR, HSV Coupes are rocketing up, and if ya can find a Coupe 4 or a W427 ya'll be very lucky. Duttons are a major player, if you check out their site, you'll see they've got heaps of HSVs, they've sold around 10 GTSRs, and some of the private sale GTSRs listed on Carsales have been bought by Duttons.

I'm just salty because I didn't want to take the initial depreciation hit and waited too long - I just thought they'd dip more than they did. But yeah, you're right Pickles its not just the GTSR, I just singled that one out because it was the model I wanted, I knocked back a perfect Gen-F2 GTS at a great price , some are +$30k from when that was offered (I'm just not convinced they're selling though).

(in the middle of a pandemic too ...when many are without jobs)

Performance Holden and HSVs have been seemingly going nuts in this pandemic. My mate has a set of immaculate RX7s and these have been getting crazy offers apparently. Skylines, S chassis Nissan, EVOs etc are all crazy too. Basically anything that your 30-50 yr old performance car lovers grew up with is asking big dollars. I wonder if its because a lot of people are having to stay at home or are just driving around a lot and cant enjoy as many outings as they used to. Especially with kids that they don't want to risk. So, they are spending up on cars instead. Full pockets and more job security than younger people, older people with a solid dose of nostalgia (inc no more Holden and Aussie Fords) and seeing what happened to previous classic car values, its supercharging the market.

The Toyota dealership near me seems to have a couple of new V8 Holden's or Ford's on the lot every week. The longest one has sat there is a E2 Clubby, that lasted about 3 weeks at nearly 40k. Anything else has not lasted the week. They are either selling or getting moved around to different dealerships. Must be great for the Toyota used car manager, he doesn't have to drive home in a Camry or Corolla each night.

Its a far cry from the Carsales current asking prices of $157k to $200k IMO...

Not long before City Holden Hillcrest folded, they had 2 x Gen F Clubbies and an SSV Redline Motor Sport Edition in stock all in that colour. Not sure where they ended up.

Yes $39407 cheaper and 8310kms less... than the cheapest one on carsales asking $157K with 9450kms on the clock, was in deed a good buy...

But ya know what, whilst our is Heron (white), I actually don't mind that color, especially with the black bits of trim etc, and the 20" rims that are on the GTSR.
But you wouldn't want to be somewhere you shouldn't be would you...easily recognizable!!
