Stop hijacking my thread Ed lol. Seriously, that looks smoking hot mate, I think I said before the silver interior is cool as fk, very space age. Have you seen For All Mankind? The head astronaut Ed Baldwin drives a seriously cool Vette in that, as the Astronauts did back in the day.

My next mission on the ute is to work out why the horn sounds like it came off a Barina. I thought the SS horn was dual tone but may be wrong. Anyone know where the horn/horns are located, and if easy upgrades are available ie Off another model. I can see a horn on the passenger side firewall, but believe that is linked to the alarm system only?

My SS was the same & so is the Corvette.

I just go to the wreckers & buy Ford dual horns off a Fairlane which sound much more like a car horn than a dog's squeaky toy.

I put a set on the SS years ago & I have a set for my Corvette sitting on a work bench waiting to go on there as we speak.

I bought the last pair for $15 from U-Pullit!

    Very easy job.

Thread from long ago. The wiring on the VTII SS was already there just tied up with the loom.
Vectra horns were the same as the VTII but the mounts and wiring needed modifying.
    These look very similar.

Picked up red leather seats and matching door trims off gumtree yesterday. Pretty happy with them. They need a good leather condition, what are people recommending on these type of seats? I don't think the leather is super good quality and is quite hard and stiff.

Re: Another Holden in the Family :) - Part 2

Ok, a bit of a rant and looking for some advice. As most are probably aware, we got hammered with some pretty bad hail last Thursday. The ute was parked at Edinburgh and like most of the cars out there was hit pretty bad (over 30 dents on bonnet alone). Now, here is where I am looking for some advice or alternatively a reality check. I have been insured with Shannons for the past 18 years with at least 4 policy's for the entire period. After the storm I took my car immediately to Erasadent (my preferred repairer) and had the car assessed and quote done up for repairs. Rang Shannons whilst I was there and was advised that car will need to go to a disaster HUB to be assessed prior to any repairs being allowed. Ok no problem, sounds fair. Meanwhile I get to work the next day and find out all my co workers and mates who are with CGU, Budget direct etc etc are already booked in for repairs. Now nearly 72 hours later I am not even booked for assessment yet? To top it off the lady who processed my claim spoke poor English and did not even know how the spell Edinburgh or in fact what an RAAF Base was. Not feeling to good about my car enthusiast insurance at this point in time. And yes I am aware that a lot of damage was done and a lot of people are far worse off than me with property damage etc.

I would email Shannons & tell them exactly what you have written here.

That's just not good enough in my opinion.

I am doing that right now Ed. They even took my excess payment over the phone and advised that if I don't pay it straight away it will hinder/slow down my claim. Fkn blackmail if you ask me.
