Car Adverts From Yesterday

Hey post some old car adverts, posters or videos from TV commercials etc in here.

I will kick it off with a Holden HG GTS 350 Monaro advert from a magazine.....

Notice that the auto had less power than the manual.

My mate's production company did this ad. Bit of trivia about it:

- The song was sung by The Screaming Jets.
- They had 2 identical utes and 2 detailers onsite so when one was doing a take they were cleaning the other one off.
- It was filmed on a property not far from Willowbank Raceway.

It was a great commercial.

Ford had a good one in the early 2000's for their ute as well.

.... amongst many of the places I have worked over the years was a stint at one of Australia's
largest film and TV commercial companies - FilmHouse Entertainment Media in South Melbourne*

we made a number of Dunlop tyre commercials, Coke Ads (one of those got me a trip to LA.. first class)
but
in the middle of Safeway grocery ads and Peters Icecreams, we made TV Commercials for the
the newly formed Victorian Dairy Industry Authority (VDIA). The new BIG M flavoured milk...
this says 1994 but that is wrong it was 1986 or 87.

* crazy hours, crazy behaviour in the film industry but I did get to meet famous peeps -
Sean Connery. Michelle Pfeiffer, Charles Dance, Steve MArtin, Sam Neill and Meryl Streep
and locally.... John Waters, Bud Tingwell, Michael Hutchence and Nadine Garner. Even appeared
in TVCs and the odd film myself

We made a few films for Disney USA and this is the crew and cast for one of them - Bushfire Moon.
a kids move, quite nice actually .. and I am in this cast and crew picture. The director here is George
Miller (he of Man from Snowy River fame)

fun times? yeah, gunna have to write a book one day
like...
all the hanky panky and shenanigans on 'Dogs in Space" ...we ended up with an R rating on that
and
the director of the movie 'Evil Angels' Fred Schepisi and Sam Neill mooning Meryl Streep as she got into her limo
to go to the airport (to return to the USA)


and
no mate... not in the TVC preview shot. NOT photogenic enuff
