I tried leaving the ignition on for a few secs this morning when cold starting and it made no difference.

Just to be 100% clear, I meant to say turn the ignition on without starting then turn it off again
then turn it on again without starting & turn it off again then do it all again before you let it crank with the key.

That would insure that you would have full pressure at start time.

Yours is probably like mine so the fuel pump is hard to hear over the intercooler pump when you turn on the ignition?

Thanks man, yeah, gave it a go as above and doesn't make any diff.....

Changed a few of the relay's today (got a few from Repco and a couple from Holden parts); Didn't make any diff though.... bugger. Glad I did at least take a look though, as boy it was a bit of a mess in there... had been some serious heat due to a short at some point. Fan relay in particular had been burnt to the sh1thouse (looked like an old burn though).

Onwards and upwards .......... there's got a be a reason though as she used to fire 1st crank every time.

Howdy all, so I'm a tad excited (I'm a 54 year old man with 2 kids.... I should be over this stuff ......... NOT!) ...... dropped the wags off to the lads at Shockworx tonight to get the suspension 'sorted' ....... very much looking forward to the results (mandate: Not track, but 'spirited' hills driving ... spirited over comfort.)

Should have the O'l girl back by Thursday night all going well.

I'm still chasing my start problem (which has now migrated to my AC/Heater fan no longer working as well .... I think I know what the drama is, but need to pull the fan out to check .....); At least I have a possible lead to follow on the start issue. Seems there is a 'known' issue with VY/VZ models where a dry solder joint in the ECU can cause very similar issues to those I am experiencing. I have her booked in with an Auto Elec on the 5th for a bit of probing ...... If this is the problem, then it may be able to be repaired/re soldered, if not then I'll be on the lookout for a refurb ECU and push the tune back down........... that's the plan anyway. It's been doing my head in so having some hope and options is a good thing ............

Hahaha! Excellent. Please report your thoughts on here. I've been told to expect my full Coilover kit to be available in September or October. I've been waiting for availability since late 2020, so I better be happy!!!

For sure, I had done all the research before I recommended you looking at Shockworks back on page 2. I first contacted them 2 years ago and still have only heard positive things since. They've just taken a long time with this VT-VZ kit. You may be one of the original run of 5 with the full production kit actually.

Shocks are done ........... WOW ........ VERY different beast to drive. Picked her up on Sat morning and had to dash off to Bendigo for the weekend to sort some extended family business out ........ Over the weekend I did 4 trips back and forth and a bit of whizzing around in the middle ....... so got a pretty good feel of the new ride both on highway, and back roads.

Good lord does the O'l girl eat corners now ........... I'm very impressed and very happy. The ride is quite a bit stiffer - but that was the mandate - performance over comfort (and extenuates all the little rattles an 18 year old car makes) but good lord does she respond to the twisties now.

It's gunna take me a bit to get my confidence up to push her a little harder but I am VERY happy with the result (glad I put some new Michelin PS4's on her before the shocks went on).

Chris is an absolute pissa of a bloke and delivered everything he said he would (and I must say the cost was pretty bloody decent too ..... couldn't have had any of the other 'performance' products installed for the price it cost me for the Shockworx product) - Money very well spent!!!

Red - you'll love e'm mate and fully adjustable if you feel like a tinker.

As the weather dries out I'm sure I'll start pushing a little harder and get a better feel for what she can do now.

The only regret I have is that the new handling capabilities has highlighted the need for me to do something with my 3800 Cirlce D stall converter in my A4 ... it's great for quick starts and straight line stuff but not so flash for twisting roads. I think it needs to come out ..... Oh well, there is always something.

Sounds awesome, mate. Thanks for taking the time to write a review. I've requested a more comfort based setup from Shockworks for my car. I'm basically looking to mimic the setup I previously had with Tein Coilovers. I need to replace my tyres too, I have Michelin PS4 (not S, not available on my size) but I don't like them. I am looking at Bridgestone Potenza Sport this time.

Just got back from taking my eldest girl to work and GOD damn I love driving my wags (peeing with rain and roads are wet as buggery). Every day I drive it with these new shocks, I get a little bit more confident in what it can do. I've always enjoyed driving in the rain (as it adds that little bit of extra excitement) and I was little more 'aggressive' than usual ........... and damn, Shite to a blanket .........

Loving these new shocks, new tires and the way it rides ......... it just feels SOLID and predictable. I feel like these shocks have brought what was already a good package into a GREAT package ... VERY HAPPY
