I see that the latest electric BMW 5 series has a gaming console inbuilt to amuse you whilst it is charging. This new generation of people must have so much spare time to chill whilst fueling their vehicle. This was on the latest edition of Throttle House. Granted, the person driving this car is probably not your average working class punter.

Like you said, Mazda seem to be looking after people which is great. If you have a defective product that is one thing, but to put your head in the sand and not rectify it is another altogether. My wifes SP25 had the dash issue where the top part melts in the sun and separates from the rest of the dash leaving a gaping hole. Mazda replaced that under good will warranty as the VIN of that vehicle qualified it. Pretty damn good if you ask me as the car was around 7 years old at that stage. The cost was around $2700 from memory.
Our VT2 SS had a complete 6 speed replacement at about 30k. I was deployed overseas with the ADF at the time. Glendon Motors Holden picked it up with a flat bed, gave my wife a loan car and sat it in their workshop for 3 weeks whilst a replacement box came
from Mexico. I got the invoice upon RTA and still have it, 8K for the box alone.

    I can't believe I missed that thread....!

bought a brand spankers VX SS and then, well..... that new LS1 got rebuilt-
new rings and bearings and heads (originals eroded by detonation) coz it was using 4 litres of oil every 100kms (that is ONE HUNDRED not one thousand!)
    and rebuilt
a new HSPO exchange short motor complete but used the previous heads (2nd lot)
    and
a full rebuild of that (yup, problem of no oil control still NOT fixed)
    and
finally brand spankers new completly hand built new imported jobbie from Michigan ( I saw the crate) complete LS1 engine (not a Mexican assembly line job)

    but then and also
LOTS of other misery posts here.. not only on engines, but clutches, gearboxes, diffs etc

    one example
    http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/showthre...I-am-not-happy

finally had enough, when dash electrics played up, new cluster and also switch gear and then some clown
cut the corner hitting me and when I heard that VZ was about to come out, i was at the head of the queue for one of those

    Re: The truth about EV's

I had a very similar experience with my VXII SS, Smitty. The engine issues I mentioned, but I too went through 2 clutches and a diff. The second clutch replacement nearly killed me actually. I left the dealership on a Friday night and when going through an intersection, the clutch suddenly went to the floor and I nearly got hit. That was not fun getting home and then back to the dealership on the Monday.

I didn't do anything stupid in the car, it wasn't raced or anything. I had other little issues, like the seat cushion collapsing (which was replaced by one that didn't match - I should have fought that harder too). Was an all round rubbish experience with that car.

That is a fkn joke. On a similar note I am seeing more and more car parks permanently set aside for EV so they can sit there and charge all day. There is a small carpark in Murray Bridge that has 6 EV spots and sign saying EV only and charged for free from solar panels on top of MB council building.
