I put a post in the Power Torque thread yesterday telling about my current mods and edit. It is all there for those that want to read it but in summary I have Genie Try Y extractors, X Force 2 ½” cat back exhaust, Chipmaster CAI kit and Power Torque Edit.
This ended up with 245 RWKW out of the VE SS Auto on Power Torque's dyno which has a reputation for being very conservative. The car is great to drive now (not that it wasn’t before) just so much ‘fresher’.
I have also done a few cosmetic changes so thought I’d put some pictures up for those who may be considering going down the same road but want to see what it looks like first. Hopefully if I get this right there will be before and after pictures.
1. Add boot lid lining
Before
After
2. Coloured dash trim strips
Before
After
3. Chipmaster CAI and L76 Engine covers
Before
After
4. Tow bar with trim and exhaust tips (standard X Force tips)
Before
After
5. Bee Sting aerial
Before
After
Hope to get the Lovells springs fitted next week
Cheers

Very nice indeed, so when are the 20 inch wheels coming?
For those asking about the aerial go here
http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/showthre...ight=bee+sting
For those asking about the colour coded dash strips they are Holden spare parts off the VE SSV. They come painted in each of the exterior colours and just pull off the old ones (plastic clips) and pop the new ones in. All up about 10 minutes work.
Part numbers vary depending on the colour. I paid $16 each for mine (GST exempt and 'good' trade price. Pretty good value for $32 I thought.
Don't think I'll go down that road. With a very second hand back I don't want real small sidewalls. I went for a drive in one with the 20" and felt every bump compared to my 18".
Gee I only counted 15. Like they say a picture is worth a thousand words and the idea was to help out others who might be thinking of going down this road but wanted to see it in the flesh so to speak.
I know I only went the dash strips after eyeballing one here in Brisbane and I wanted to make the trim around the tow bar very clear as it is not a part of the kit and as such you order it separate. I have seen pics on here where the same tow bar has been fitted without the trim around the cut out and I bet that is the next thing they buy after seeing these pics.

Nice Suttle touches their AussieTone.
I like the Original Engine cover tho.
Yeah and don't change the wheels either, looks sweet
Looking good Tone, that red trim fits in very nicely![]()
So they are available in Ignition? They are awesome mate, it really sets the tone off in the car! How come i have never seen them before and why wouldnt the dealer mention this to me? Its not even on their website. Would i be able to get the parts number and so i can tell them this is for red. But i want it in ignition. Holden dealers have a history of not knowing anything about anything i want. I will ring tomorrow and try and order this through as well as the gear knob selector! Thanks mate, it really looks awesome!
EDIT: Dont worry about part numbers mate, lol, i just realised the reason my dealer never mentioned this is because i already have the full colour dashLOL. now i feel real dumb. But it really sets it off with the onyx and the red hot. Nice man!

Your right. that’s why they don't mention it as it is a 'section' from the full coloured dash from the SSV. In saying that however, I showed mine to my salesman who was very impressed and he will now be suggesting to SS buyers they get these added. He is also going to do one of their yard cars up with just the coloured strips.
I think it makes a great difference and separates the black (onyx) and also matches perfectly if you have opted the HSVI coloured steering wheel and shifter.

Nice work Tone.
Bring on the FI next mate.....will suit the red colour of car

Sold my VE SS-V and bought a Polo GTI
Would anyone know if the strip come in a metallic colour like the one used in the Calais?
Love the touches you have made tone, nice to see variations on the VE's. Love the antenna? Can they only be purchased via e-bay or is there someone who sells them via retail?
