On the same note I'm actually interested in what you put together for it....
Too true...I actually got sick of all the racers that dont race saying how weak the thing was....and sure enough it needs serious help in the power department, it is bloody slow - but there is SOME basis there to build a decent car out of. I dont think its ever going to be a gazillion kilowatt thing, and sure enough the scene will quickly be littered in blown engines once the boosted kits are out there, you only need to look back through MX5, 350Z etc turbo kits to know that trying to squeeze these things too hard will end in tears. It comes down to hp per cube, no rocket science there.

Our aim is 160kw (Mainline) at the wheels NA, and a tune level that puts it into the low 14s down the 1/4- that may be enough, but it WONT be easy to do. The DI mapping in these things is optimised to buggery. More than that it will be a quick track/hillclimb car, and thankfully we have some dealer backing to put together exactly this kind of car. ADR approval would also be nice, but also extremely difficult in this modern age (EuroIII was hard enough!)

Toyota 86 isnt a fast car. It isnt a ground breaking car.
What it is - is something fresh and new rather than the same re-heated TV dinner all over again. Maybe a change is as good as a holiday? And for some thats enough
For us the challenge of trying to make the thing go via innovation rather than opening the parts catalog is the whole essence of the project.
