The carbon looks great guys. I'm sure I would stuff it if I gave it a go.

Not sure about the full wrap R35. It may look better in person I suppose. From the pics it looks like a schmicko job though.

No. I think it looks great and have been thinking of doing this to my interior as well. Yes it adds weight but about as much as the driver eating 2 big macs.

I might be cynical or just getting old but I think that this fake carbon fibre could be the new chev badge .... something about making things look like something they are not ??

You may have a case for an argument there as far as being "fake." The difference between a Chav... I'm sorry, I meant Chev badge vs a Holden... well there's a stupid number of threads on that. For me it's to make the car look different and give it a performance appearance. Half the reason why we mod cars is to make them look/sound better, not just go better. When it's done tastefully I can't see a problem with it. Each to their own though. Evman's looks stock and fantastic!

Someone beat you to it Wonky,

Back on topic now has any one seen this done to a VT or VX? I am sure it would be a lot harder with all the curves compared to a VY/VZ where everything is more square or angular.

Mate I really want to give it a go in my VU. Looking at doing it within the next 12 months (got other priorities at the moment). I did have this as a bit of a secret as I've never seen it done, don't know if it'd work yet and would require a lot of work if it could be done but this is what I'm hoping to do to my ute (excuse the use of paint and hacked up pictures!):

Basically, wherever it's the shiny pale silver plastic, I want to put the carbon fibre over. There'll have to be a lot of excess as it'll be a b!tch to do but I think I might be able to pay it off. I'd imagine where above the air vents and between the speedo would be the biggest issues which may require some incisions along the grain of the carbon fibre. Don't know about relocating the AC controls and the rest of the stuff. Getting a wrecked VX/VU and cutting out the AC controls and replacing them with gauges will be a tight fit but should be manageable. Before anyone asks I used boost gauges as they fit easier on the picture, in RL they'd be electronic oil pressure and oil temperature gauges.

Mate bar moving the climate controls etc I have my VX dash being covered at the moment, fingers crossed it looks as good in person as it does in my head.

    Re: Carbon Fibre interior trim!

I guess I form a minority then, just don't see the use in using an expensive weight reduction material for aesthetics and nothing else when carbon fibre itself is dull in color...Hence the sticker comment.

Should start selling this stuff lol.
