FWIW even though I've never been well off enough to afford a HSV and the only possibility for me doing so is an inheritance from the sale of my parents' house whenever they cark it (hopefully I'll still be capable of driving then!) but I've found it a very interesting read, particularly with some of the insider insights into HSV. Having met and been helped by Graeme all I can say is congratulations on where all your hard work has got you and on your awesome collection of cars!! I hope to be able to get over there one day to see them in person.

I hope I got it right this time.

Hey no worries mate, I only wish I had got onto this when it started.

I am still only on page 10 of the old post! LOL!!!!

Re: Does HSV understand its Market? - Part 2

Planetdavo QUOTE It's, ummm, rather cheap and easy contacting these customers, having their details from the previous purchase and all...
Happens all the time. Manufacturers of many breeds want you to buy another one of their brand as soon as possible after buying the previous one. Often that's around 2 to 3 years after purchace, the time many are starting to think about a possible replacement QUOTE

Yea...right, thats about the same time the warranty runs out or the lease expires....have no idea why resale values would be down though eh?

    Planetdavo QUOTE Maybe, maybe not.
HSV have tried already with Astra VXR, and although the regular Holden Astra's sold well, the market for VXR was very, very limited. With SRI-V Cruze already cracking 30K, a pumped up HSV version with a unique engine will crack 40K for sure.
Is there genuinely a market? Talk is easy QUOTE

God dont call those wanna be boy racer VXR's a HSV.
I am embarrassed to see the HSV badge on a front wheel drive euro bucket of s#%$.
Bring back the HSV Camira any day

Planetdavo QUOTE: You are describing what the Walkinshaw Performance side of the same owner of HSV already does.
HSV cars have to be ADR's and GM engineering approved. WP's list of aftermarket mods like you describe don't. QUOTE

    I dont want a Holden.
    I do want a HSV.
I dont want a Wankinshaw that is based on an over priced HSV only to be charged $140 Friggin thousand dollars.
Shit, you just dont get it mate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My 2c is all of the pricks should give us MORE product for LESS money - and if they dont - then take your love somewhere else (buy a pet Alpaca or something), as car companies sure dont love you back. Ride them like dirtbikes and dispose of them at will. It doesn't matter which brand the car is - YOU are the boss

Hey dont you own or run a company? Why dont you start giving your customers more for less money?
    Just sayin...

Jai QUOTE: There's no greater satisfaction than stripping the engine bay down on a brand new GTS and dropping another 30k on engine mods to make it what it should be. I expect the oem should be able to do the same for 20 there you have it. Haters gunna hate, and modders gunna mod! QUOTE.

Now thats exactly want the hardcore HSV owner wants.
Stuff Walkinshaw and there overpriced already overpriced HSV.
HSV need to step up and say hey you hardcore nut job what'll it be....woulda like fries with that, Sir?

Re: Does HSV understand its Market? - Part 2

I have made a few comments on this thread...BUT NOT MANY...ya can check if ya like.....but surprisingly, I've read every post!!
My conclusion,........ I have never read so much B/S on this Forum before.....everyone posting their "two bobs worth", some saying HSV are watching this thread....AND THEY WELL MAY BE....but if ya read all the endless ra ra ra contained here over what...30/40 pages, & think HSV would take any notice of this absolute "DRIVVLE"....then, tell me what ya smokn'.. I want some of it. Guys, THEY WOULD BE LAUGHING THEIR TITS OFF!
Some people say that some people "believe their own B/S"....this thread is a prime example.
But, I shall continue to "read", & "wonder", & be "amazed".
    Cheers, Pickles.

Seldo QUOTE: When you take the car in with an issue, and get the old "Oh - they all do that - it's normal", or "that clutch issue is your poor driving", or "That rattle inside the engine is normal - just see if it develops" - it is very disappointing, and, at that point, even though the issue might eventually get fixed, irretrievable damage is already done. QUOTE.

    2003 R8 Clubby.
    600km's old.
Clutch slipped with traction control ON taking off from the lights going in to HSV dealer just for a drive.
Gearbox very hard to select 3rd gear - told they do that from new and just need to wear in a little.
    Not given Compendium.
Had to beg for gift package.
Told it had never been in an accident but after purchase found slight colour variation in right front guard and drivers door.
    2005.
    Very low k's.
Brake fluid leak from master cylinder all over chassis rail.
    Rear crank seal leaking.
Salesman said get back to me next week...next week...next week.
Had a couple of things attended to but salesman didnt give a shit and back then was when HSV 'enthusiasts' bought HSV's, not joe public.
These cars sold themselves the idiot in the suit that gave you the keys was only there to take your money.
And not get back to you, somethings never change eh?

This thread was started with good intentions . . . and quickly went off the rails . . . there has been some relevent comments . . . but I guess you cannot see them the way I do . . . its about 4 weels old and I believe it has been the most popular thread around here over that time . . . maybe that says something . . . maybe not

. . . but in amongst all the shit etc . . there is one good thing . . PASSION. . . and thats a good thing . . . some of the passion has swayed into positive territory . . . . and some . . negative . . . but there are many "COLD HARD FACTS" been posted . . . and if your mates at HSV "Laugh their tits off" . . . that is exactly why they are where they are tomorrow morning 9/1/2012 . . . facing a year when many dealers do not want a car for about 4 months!!!!(excluding Special Customer orders)

. . . your entitled to your opinion Pickles . . . but there are 550 posts on this thread . . . and some are good & relevant. . . shame you cannot see that!!!
