True credit to you and your body people mate - it is a beautiful example. Love the Preston Motors sticker on the rear screen too!!!
cheers
Thanks Adam.
I thought of the screws but I used the proper short ones. Windscreen fitter seems to think that there wasnt enough goo and the screen was touching the body.
Good Idea on the belts. Will get new ones soon.
Yep, will be dual system very soon.
Best bet would be to check out evil bay
Thanks.

Thanks Macca, I just couldn't bring myself to scrape the sticker off, just thought that it would add to a bit of originality.
Just found this thread,
I must say your car is a great example of a true australian built car,the holden V8 is still the best sounding V8 on the road.
You were very lucky to find such a good car to start with, not much rust at all for a HQ.
Hope you don,t mind me sharing my monaro in your thread, been doing this at home in my spare time.

Wow, That looks awsome. Love the early Monaro's. My dream car is a HG Monaro in the Indy orange.
Have finally got a chance to get the HQ out of the shed and in the garage so I can get rego on it as soon as I get some spare time.
Here's some pics with the CV8Z.
The CV8Z seems to have a huge ass compared to the HQ

They both look awesome Nick..Be nice to get a close up look at the HQ one day..
That sedan looks mint!
CV8Z's are huge compared to early Holden's. My coupe fits in my garage nicely but the minute I put the VZ in the same garage, man suck your gut in!
I took a similar pic one sunny weekend out of boredom to see how they look side by side --- Sunny weekend, what are they these days?

This thread is bringing out some awesome old Holdens!!![]()
If we are crashing this thread with monaro's ill throw my two cents in then![]()

Those new and old monaro,s together, look fantastic,if i drove up your street with them in the drive way,you would have an unexpected stranger roaming in

Good stuff here guys...will have to scratch up a photo of my old man's white HT GTS. Had some front end panels off my Tonner picked up today making their way onto a HQ coupe up Swan Hill way. Keep them alive at all cost because they are tuff as hell. The looks they get in the street nowadays are priceless.
Had a great afternoon yesterday. Drove the HQ to Brendale for a safety certificate, no power steer or air con and listening to AM radio. Gave it a squirt in 3rd getting on to the highway, changed to 4th and gave it another squirt, pushed the cluth in and realised I had no gears left. Oh well. Car drove great and passed the safety. Rego in the next few days.
And a pic of the dash lights.

Doesn,t that dash look FLASH,very nice. The am radio is great fun.
Rego soon,very exciting times ahead,enjoy.
10 days short of one year ownership, my Valentines Day 1973 built GTS has become a Queenslander. 73 4 door rego. Time to have some fun.
