All SS/SSV M6 have 3.45 LSD and I'm 99% sure you'll find they have the L77 motor which is basically the L76 with AFM deactivated and ethanol 85 capability.

I thought the autos had the L77 and manuals got the L98??

Nah, all S2 have L77 now. AFM is enabled on autos, disabled on manuals. See posts #3 and #6 of http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/showthread.php?148992.

The old we've got a buyer for your car. I traded my VX II Calais about 10 months ago, we've got a wholesaler interested in your car etc., after I traded I checked their website from time to time, and before long my car was advertised at the dealer where I traded it. Can't say I really understand the bullshit, makes no difference to me whether they sell it on to another dealer or wholesaler, or they sell it through their own yard. Perhaps they say that, thinking you won't bother to check out what they are selling it for (sussin out their margins etc).

I'll ask here before I ask the dealer. Is it possible for me to ask for some kind of order number for the car being built? I have never ordered a custom built car it would be nice to know some details of the build before I give my own car up for a loaner.

Yes. Ask the dealer for your order number, then ask the Holden customer service people for the expected build date etc. They were happy to do that for me five years ago

P platers have gone mad for the VE SV6 utes and I really don't think you would have trouble selling it. He ended up with a 2008 SV6 ute 60th Ann with 27,000km for $26,500. An hour after he agreed to purchase the car some guy called up and offered the seller to match what ever offer my brother made plus an extra $1000.00, it was lucky the seller was a genuine person and stuck to her word.
Now consider 2008 is now 4 years old and purchase price new would have been around $30-$32k that is pretty good resale value!

However personally I couldn't live without my V8 and would be stretching the budget as much as I could to step up into an ss.

Good luck with your purchase which ever way you go!
Well i am seriously thinking of putting my SS-V on the market. Auto ,harrop supercharger and then some......you could step into that for the right price

    Re: SV6 vs SS Purchase

Is it worth me making a slight change to my order (I should be able to with 4 weeks left for it to be delivered I imagine..) to include the sports steering wheel? I wonder if the dealer could give a decent bit off the RRP?

    Re: SV6 vs SS Purchase

If you'd done that as part of the original negotiations they possibly would have thrown it in as a deal clincher, but now they've got your order (and hence got you by the short and curlies ) they'll probably want full list price. The only thing they may do is offer to fit it for free.

Yea unfortunately they're not budging from the rrp. I just didn't think about it when I was signing the contract I had just thrown in the spare alloy and flip key. Now I want the steering wheel and sill plates but not sure if its worth it for the price

Yea it is the HSVI steering wheel. I think I'll end up getting it, it seems to improve the look of the interior substantially.

Check prices on eBay, a set of sills is about $150

What price did they give you for the wheel?
