Unfortunately fuel consumption figures with no accompanying average speed are fairly irrelevant because the average speed hugely affects economy. At ave speed of low 40s my heavy (1960kg with me and nearly full of petrol) small cammed A6 can easily be 16l/100km but on the freeway (30+km trip) I've seen low 9s.
Ryan i will save you some fuel on your drive from Epping to Whittlesea, go Cooper street to Craigieburn bypass and turn north. get off at Donnybrook Rd and head east turn left into Plenty Rd and continue HOME!!!
by going this way you will miss out on the debarcle of high st through epping, the plus is once you get on the bypass it's 100km/ph and then 80/100 along Donnybrook Rd and the same for Plenty Rd and then the 60 as you come into Whittlesea.
going this way and keeping the gear changes to around 2000 you should get under 10's plus cut anything upto 20 mins off your trip.
