From my observations, most hsv/holden owners are satisfied with their vehicles performance and its only the silly ford fans
that constantly whinge why people choose the holden/hsv product over their beloved blue oval badged cars. Visit the ford
forums and count how many holden/hsv threads there are lol. Visist WRX forums, nobody cares about holden or ford. Visit
nissan forums, nobody cares about holden/ford/wrx. Visit bmw forums, nobody cares about holden/ford/nissan/wrx. Visist
Holden forums, nobody cares about ford/wrx/nissan/bmw.
Now visit ford forum and its boo hoo hooo, holoden this, holden that..... lol

    Absolutely spot on.

Why buy a HSV if you don't care about performance. That's what they are about isn't it?

Compared to how many of them are sold ... bugger all modify them.

Seriously, we have reached and passed the limits of how much power you can use on the street. I have a stock standard E3 HSV and if I drove it fast as it can go I'd loose it and my Licence, you just can't use any more power unless you're hitting the track or the strip. I prefer HSV over FPV ... if it has 325kW instead of 450kW I really couldn't give a toss. Maybe I'm getting old ... you just don't need that sort of power on public roads.

Bloody oath it has enough ... I said I prefer HSV over FPV, perhaps I should expand that to I prefer HSV over the other vehicles of similar size on offer!

Would you be happy with a HSV that was the same power or less as an SS. It's enough after all

Yep ... you'd have to be talking V6 power before I'd think it wasn't enough.

Even then, suburban driving V6 is plenty. It's when you get up to freeway speeds and you want to climb hills or overtake that they start to struggle.

This is just my opinion ... I'm just saying that more power doesn't = better for everyone.

Well I would like to believe that the majority of punters out there are after a similar product to myself, a product where more power the better. Within reason of course. No one wants a powerhouse with a completely rubbish core car.

Nick, I honestly think you might have this one wrong, there are plenty of them out there with mods, granted most have less mods than some
but I think more get some mods rather than being exactly how they left the showroom floor even if it just be minor things like cat back exhaust,
    wheels, intake, tunes etc.

Fair enough ... I'm probably wrong saying "bugger all" ... but I'd be surprised if the majority are modified.

I could well be wrong, but I maintain that if outright power was all anyone cared about HSV wouldn't keep outselling FPV by the margins they do. Numbers aren't everything!

I did not write my post above very well, what I meant to say was that there are quite a number of modified ones out there
even though most of the modified ones only had very minor mods
but I think I may have come across as if I was saying that most of them were modified.

Saw one of these gt r specs the other day on spring vale road. Got to say it almost looked like a home spray job. What a horrible colour combo.

No offense but I think you may be wrong. Considering the numbers of Hsv sold to Fords. But everyone's different and that's what makes it interesting I suppose!
