Thanks for this entire thread guys!

Been following it from the start and it's been great to read, especially enjoyed the build pics that were posted as well as the post delivery first impressions, good to see the genuine sense of community for a change with none of the confrontational bullshit that's been so prevelant!

Whats all this talk on the HSV forum regarding 96k drive away prices and 48 unallocated cars sitting at the dealers? Any truth to all this?

If true, that's amazing! That's the price I was quoted for a VE Senator only about 8 months ago. Incredible price for all that the new GTS offers!

Re: Supercharged HSV? - Part 4

I have no inside information so this is guesswork only. I believe that HSV pricing to dealers is the same. So if a dealer is prepared to do a mate a deal and cut their profit margin then a lower price could be had. Sometimes prices mentioned are ex GST through a business or do not include ORC. There may be deals for 2013 build sold in 2014 as is usual for any manufacturer. I could be wrong of course, I paid full tote odds and couldn't even manage to get free tint. But I still got a happy ending.

Re: Supercharged HSV? - Part 4

I think I recall reading previously about opinions including mine, that prices will be easier to negotiate when demand drops and particularly early 2014 when trying to clear 2013's.... fairly standard practice regardless of model. Wait till they start trying to flog the Red lines & Clubbies

I am still happy with my 102K with Auto & Spare.... not the best deal, not the worst, but I still signed the dotted line and wouldn't have if I wasn't happy, and as I also get the GST back takes it down to just under 97K. It's the hidden costs that people tend not to look at - Interest or FBT, and as I am paying cash, I don't have to pay interest and I structure it so that I don't have FBT either, The LCT is what really pi$$es me off!

Anyway, I will stop crapping on.... "don't worry" about a deal that someone else, "be happy" about your awesome car........ unless of course your in the market for one and in that case screw em for everything you can, cause you know they will do it to you, especially with after sales service or lack there of

You could put your $100K into bank shares and earn over 5% fully franked, so 7-8% grossed up ... you may not be paying interest but you're losing income, opportunity cost is still a cost!

No doubt you'll have a smile on your face anyway ...
