A CTEK MXS5, 2yr old .Which is plugged into my XUV 24/7 via an anderson plug, does what it does , batteries always fresh, no lag.

a Projecta AC250B , 5 yrs old,it works. which is plugged in to a HQ 253 Tonner paddock basher.

and I've got a solar charger screwed on to the side of my gator charging a 27ah gel battery, best 20 buck fix eva, battery always fresh

    Re: CTEK Battery Chargers

So to add to this thread.
On my motorbike I have used the eyelets and plug which hangs out just inside the fairing so I can easily plug it in. I have used the same for the Monaro but what I want to know is if others have done the same, where did you stick the plug out? Id like to be able to plug the charger in without having to pop the bonnet. Or can I wire it somewhere else like the accessory plug to charge the car?
    I'm not a hoon, I'm just competitive

I have a CTEK MXS5, only charger Ive ever owned but seems to be doing the job.
Ive done the same with my bike, and I just use the clips on the car battery with the plug just hanging out of the bonnet.
Not exactly sure what you mean by accessory plug but I think it would need to be hardwired to the battery.
Aren't accessory plugs only active what the key is switched to 'acc' or 'on'?

I too was wondering whether others just use the standard traditional clamps or do you use the special connector that permanently mounts to your battery terminals and just plugs in?

I have the permanent connector and the end of it neatly sits behind the fuse box out of the way when not in use.

You can buy extra permanent connectors at Repco if you have multiple cars to connect to.

I have a trickle charger fitted to my motorcycle, it was fairly cheap< $50 and supplied and fitted by my dealer. I thought these can also be used on Cars, why would you want to pay a lot more for the Ctek any advantage ?

    yep , that's the idea.
Got some 300kg spectra/dyneema rope to connect up from the plug and brick wall,
that way it should just pull out and drop to the ground without rebound or tearing the wiring.

    Re: CTEK Battery Chargers

So these CTek Chargers are all Ok to connect to, & charge the battery, whilst it's still in the car, & without disconnecting the terminals?
    Cheers, Pickles.

CTek claim they are ok to leave connected, unless you are using the recond mode.

I've leave all 3 of my cars and my mower connected, and never have had an issue.
