As you know so would I. I wouldn't care if the VF had 700HP as it has the ugliest backside I have ever seen

You don't sit behind your own car though huh! VF interior shits all over the VE IMO and that's where i spend the time driving. GenF for me over the (read;vommit) interior of the W427.

Of course it's only my opinion.....

Just because you don't see it doesn't mean you don't know that it is there.

No, not taking it personally. Just takes a lot more to impress me than a new dash layout. Of course, varying opinions are the requirement of any forum, lest they become stale and boring.

So the fact that it is safer, is more fuel efficient, handles better and on top of that has the better interior and "gadgets" is just a moot point? Apart from the more aggressive exterior which i prefer over the VF what is it that makes the VE a better car than the VF? Just curious that's all.

I don't think he's saying it's a better car than a vf but it holds more appeal to some people. What makes a good classic car valuable and desirable is low volume and usually a engine that really separates it from similar models. The W427 might have been too expensive at the time but the the engine was massive step up from the ls3 and they only made 150 or so. The styling was pretty subtle but all the VE hsvs ended up looking the same and over 6 yrs there was a minimum change in power and heaps of sticker specials.

The vf/ gts is a great package but they are going to pump out hundreds of them. I have only ever seen a few W427s on the road, saw one at the airport last week and thought it had a great understated, classy look so I can understand why someone would take one over the new gts.

Yep, totally agree with that. If it came down to the Gen F GTS of the W427 i'd be taking the Gen F still. I like my new shiny toys.

As with anything like that it comes down to personal taste. I absolutely love the rear of the Gen F HSVs with the four fat 4" pipes!

I never said the VE was technically a better vehicle. I only commented that I don't like the VF arse end, enough to never buy one unless I step out of the Senator into a Grange (which has the same rear as the VE). The incremental safety/fuel/handling would be welcome.

The new rear of the VF looks fantastic in person. The HSV, as wonky said, looks awesome. Far more aggressive than the photos show. Have u had a good look around one in person?

They look much better in person especially the ones with 275 tyres. Photos make them seem taller its a bit the same with BMW they tend to look a bit crap in photos to

Of course I have looked at them, i haven't driven one (no test drives at the time) but I really have no interest in buying a VF. I do like the front, though they should have changed the vent in the guards for the HSV to be a bit more exclusive.

Re: Walkinshaw Performance - The W375 Package

I hope Holden builds them after the VF because they are really close now to German quality. I know there is a pretty big step up though to feel that solid bank vault feel of some german cars and the interior is still not as good as say Audi. But bloody hell I was looking at the Audi site last night and check out the cost of these cars this is for an S6 possibly equivalent to a commodore just about. 180K so I reckon making 50k or so for the top line commodores a total bargain and the best large 4 door cars in the world for the price.

Re: Walkinshaw Performance - The W375 Package

I won't buy another German car until we are living in Germany. Done it several times now, over it completely. As much as it pains me to say it, I think Australia makes better cars for our conditions than what we do.
