Well, after another poor experience with my local Holden dealer I've decided I've had enough. I'm not prepared to drive to the other side of town for sales and service, so I've ordered a cheap and unexciting small wagon which I will drive for work for 3 years, at which time I'll pass it on to the missus and get something more interesting again.
Sorry Holden, but thanks to your crap dealership you've lost a long term customer who buys new every three years.
If Holden are serious about staying in this country they need to get their service model sorted.
i agree with some of the reply's above.
I haven't bought a new commodore ever, simply becasue to stretch to a new SS requires about 50K or so..
So i have always bought 2nd hand in the 20-40K bracket. Around 2005 or so my wages were better etc and so
at that stage i could afford a new or 2nd hand car in the 20-35K bracket. And IF Holden had offered the
commodore as a Exacutive (base model) with a V8 manual option, i would have bought one. Sure me
buying 2nd hand has kept the resale value of them good, but i am sure a lot of people would have had to
face the same option.
In my opinion Holden only stopped the Exec+V8 thing simply cause they tried to make more money by
selling the SV8 instead. WHat shits me3 the most, is that at the time the LSx engines were outright cheaper
than the alloytech v6's, so in theory should have made the v8 exec manual an even cheaper car.
Yep last exec V8s were a few 6L police ones in early 06, same with the V8 berlina off the list in 08.
It would be interesting to see what percentage of sportswagons were manuals in VE, someone in a office probally said not over 20% take it off the list. Same cant get a V8 Calais now has to be the Calais V
You will love that diesel i30 fuel economy. Mrs has one and its on 5.6l/100km. Comfortable car, very practical, but no soul.
