You can get the RED TOP 35 for $275.00 posted atm , that's what i'm running.
If I get 12 months extra out of it I will be happy. What is difference between Red and Yellow top? I can get yellow D35 for $305 delivered.

D27F is the way to go. Wonky and I have them fitted. Minor bracket change required.

    Re: Leaking battery

Well it appears that I may have overfilled the battery. Noticed a large pool of liquid under the back of the car this morning, yep sure enough battery fluid/acid. It has vented a shite load out of the vent tube. Luckily nothing inside the boot, but it appears that the tube dumps on top of the exhaust heat shield, so very hard to see how much remains on top of it. So far I have just tried to spray the hose in and see if I can flush it out

Have you checked charging voltages with the car running?

No not yet, but battery was on CTEK when this happened.

Thinking by your description it might be overcharging and boiling the battery, worth loading up the electrical system and seeing what the Alternator is doing, don't know if a VE has engineering mode in the dash like Y/Z's if it does it's an easy check.

Pretty sure it has, next time I take it out will have a look, cheers

If I replace it with a Yellow top I assume I can do away with the vent tube?

Correct - No vent tube on the yellow top - sealed unit

But they will vent if charged at 15v and over...

So well worth sorting any charging issues before hand so it doesn't vomit acid in the boot..

Yes for sure. Still, alternator had nothing to do with current spill as car has not been started or driven since I topped it up, was put straight on CTEK 8 stage.

Rod general rule of thumb when filling as long as the cells are just visibly covered is sufficient, either overcharge or extreme ambient temps will cause them to vent to relief.
Hope you neutralized that discharge mate

Hey Mick, wish I had just listened to your first post and replaced the fcuking thing. I managed to clean up the garage floor ok, and neutralised what I could see dripping under the exhaust heat shield, it is what I cannot see that worries me
