There was no module under the parcel shelf in the GTS. Only parking controller and keyless go controller on the top of the shelf.

So the car is back from paint !

I have hung the doors and the liftgate.

Door handles, catches and strikers are all in and aligned.

Next for the dynamat and then flll the doors with windows and wiring....

I'm hoping to have it finished by my birthday in 4 weeks. Best present ever.

Chad don't think it's too bright & agree with the right amount of black Acc. will look very impressive. At the end of the day it's your choice & one of a kind too. Bloody

    Re: VF GTS Wagon

So I have spent some time putting the car together.

Not as much as I would like but life seems to get in the way and we had a client hit with ransome ware which had to be rolled back and that is never fun and is time consuming.

Dynamat is in and the main harness done. Still have to mod the main harness for the auto dimming mirror as I forgot that bit but the reast is done. A little routing to do in the cargo area but should only take a couple of hours.

The doors on the other car were basically assembled except for the passengers front which had to be painted so assembly is a little tedious as I have to work out how I all goes back together .. Hint - It is not the reverse of removal.

Right rear door is finished. The other doors are missing some minor clips and bits that were scavenged for the other car and some I may or may not have thrown out on old doors or just plain lost or maybe left at the panel beaters.... . Door harnesses and windows regulators are in but I need a drivers side lin bus windows regulator which was damaged in one wreck and stolen for the other car. I was going to pickup on Thursday till all hell broke loose at work. I may be able to get it tomorrow we will see.

I seem to be just putting bits on as I find them in no real order... It's like xmas... oohh there is that piece can I put that on now! My ADHD is showing through.... Mix that with a little OCD and it is a recipe for ..... Awesome.! At least in my head.

I got myself a little early birthday present for myself. DiFillipo 1 7/8 headers and full zorst.....It was at the right price. The headers required a little fettling ( As ED would say) to get them to clear the ground and the dipstick... Die grinder to the rescue.

I will tune it and drive it for a while then do the pulley upgrade..... I'm going to keep the bimodal just for authenticity. Will cut the tips off the zorst and have the bimodal tips put on....

I had to cut the rear spare wheel tub out a little to make the massive diff and k-frame fit. Will require some fabriacation to fill the hole... Nothing major. Actually far less than I thought I would have to remove.

I will fab up the section to allow the compressor that comes with the GTS to fit in the spare wheel well in the factory pocket that we saved from the gts shell along with my stereo stuff .... Think the bose will be binned before its ever installed.

Looking through the rear window at the electric park brake and that ample sway bar. IT's three time the one on the other car easily. SS is same as evoke and freaking tiny compared.

MMM Brakes...! MRC in and wired. The wiring hanging down is for the bi modal solenoinds.

    Wheels - Totally Perfect

Dash and centre console is in. Resisted the urge to put the seats in as no electricity and makes it hard to install so I'll have to wait. DOH!

Hole prepped, wired and ready for the massive donk. HSV adds some nutserts to attach brackets for the intercooler pump and piping so that had to be done.... but there is a bolt hole there already to locate so twas easy.
Waiting for some insulators from holden before I can put master cyl and brake booster in but that can happen after the engine goes in.

So.... I debated whether to post this up as it is sort of the main visual differentiator that this car will have from a Tourer and is totally custom and make it an actual GTS but what the hell.. HSV Should have done this.

And its no real secret I'm doing this......

Quite proud of this though. Not that I actually did it but project manager, ideas man and all..... Credit Taken.

So without further adue .........drumroll emoji would be nice.

I will make the chrome strip satin black with some plastidip or wrap as I'm not paying $400+ for the black one.. Also really thinking of making the roof satin black. Number plate will make a difference also as they are QLD prestige plates that are black and silver.

The electrics are not operational so the lift gate is not totally shut and I haven aligned it yet but I couldn't wait. I'm not sure about the lsa and gts badges.. think the yellow needs to be black. A syringe with sme black paint should solve that.

I'm spending most of easter in the shed so tomorrow with some help from a mate I'll get the engine and the rest of the running gear in and she can sit on her own four feet for the first time. Maybe even the radiator support as well...

Really enjoying this and have gotten very little sleep as I Just lie there and build it in my head ... so may as well do it for real. Can sleep later. Hey its only 3:24am.... Fours hours sleep and then back at it.

Hope you are all enjoying it as much as I am doing it.

    Cheers

    Cobalt.

Awesome a real credit to you.

Keep chrome and badges as is until all done then make the call.

Like most hate pulling cars apart but putting back together is so Kid in a candy store.

What can I say? Looks superb and that rear is perfect. The spare tub in the GTS is open and the boot is sealed with the lpg cover plate so you could leave as is. When I opened the little porthole in mine the spare tub is pretty filthy.

Great work. Hopefully I will this beast on the road.

Looking good, might be an idea to grab a couple of o2 harness extensions.

The GTS actually has no tub. The plate is glued to the floor and there is a piece that is bolted to that plate. I want to use the tub as an amp rack and get some more storage for junk I don't want in the cargo area.

Yep doesn't look like it'd need much maybe 50>75mm, maybe Justin can whip you up a pair of extensions to suit.
