    Stall converters

Im in the market for a hi-stall converter and just curious what brand people are using these days? Last time i had to purchase a new stallie circa 2010 I heard alot of good things about Dominator so i went with them. I never had any issues and would use them again just curious what else is about now? I remember hearing about Circle D abit but never met anyone whos used one? Bit nervous about getting something from the states incase of warranty issues etc.

The way the dollar is, I'd just stay local. Cant go wrong with the 3 big names, Allfast, Dominator or Sling Shot. Get it built to suit your purpose, not something off the shelf designed to stall at a certain speed as it may behave completely different behind your combo.

Just recently had to rebuild mine, its an Allfast...was happy with the original (it was a 4500 behind an LS1) and still very happy with the replacement.

Add TCE to the list. They make some good converters too.

Personally regardless of price, I always purchase the Circle'd converters.

They were 1 if not the first guys making them for the 6l80's & the one i purchased back in 2008 is still going strong. as such I've purchased a bunch since even for my drag car.
It's happened before, It will all happen again.

Fitted a Dominator 3000 lockup tc a few weeks ago to our stock VTII SS. No problems at all, and a good company to deal with.
    Oh, and its awesome!

X2 on the Circle D, mine has been awesome, I recently had it cut and cleaned and the Lockup discs replaced locally.

I'm running a TCE in my VF wagon. It's a nice converter with good manners. Tight on light throttle but wide open throttle it flashes nicely. The guys at TCE were very good to deal with.

    Re: Stall converters

I use a TCT converter, they are the best imo and well known in inner drag circles. A couple of original Dominator guys split off to start TCT way back in the day and then went on to start TCE converters. Both TCT and TCE have a close relationship, as TCE is quite a small operation, there are many things they cannot do in house, TCT fill some of the gaps for them.
Many of the custom high stall parts they use are exactly the same so when it comes down to it, not much difference between the two although one advertises very heavily and that adds to the price of the product.
