Was always my dream car Ed, an XY GT. I ended up with my second cholce back in the day (A V8 Charger) as even then I could not afford an XY GT (30K v 8k) at the time. Still a lot of money for something that might not run. I still hold hopes of one day owning one, but would not swap it for my Calais.

    Re: XY GT Auction

I bought & sold plenty of them back in the day.

I am pretty sure this thing will need a fortune spent on it to get it to run after so many years sitting not started.

even the engine could be seized with rust, then it needs so much other stuff done before you could drive it & plenty of body repairs.

I can see someone spending over $100,000 getting the bodywork done & driving nice.

I just can't personally see the value.

I see the current bid is $353K, with I reckon at least $100k to spend, why is it worth this much?

I can't see the value either Martin

but I would not be surprised if next we see "charity" raffle tickets being sold with this car as the very famous $XYZ,000 valued car as the prize.

100k on bodywork, then another 30k to tub it, then another 70k on a blown 408 stroker. Better stop there and save some more money before the wife notices.

    Re: XY GT Auction

It is listing right now with bidding at "Current Bid (397 bids) $222,200"

I am not sure how the bidding has turned around backwards?

If it keeps going down, perhaps I could afford to buy it?

    Re: XY GT Auction

It stayed at $222,300 until the very last second then went up by $100 to $222,400...

    Wonder where it will end?

    Edit:

Looks like they have extended the closing time on this auction now as well, showing now 1hour 15 minutes until close.

Now it says " Closed: 28 November 2023 21:35 AEDT, Sold for $230,000"

Not only have the fake bids gone, they have lost an hour or so.
