I'll definitely check them out, although I still have minimum almost 6 months until I can actually get it done.

    Thanks again.

Interesting, but I'm sure every workshop, no matter how reputable, have unhappy customers like this.

I'm gunna chuck in here .......... APS has one of the best tuners in the business .. but, Mechanically I'm not so sure ...... I've had a 'number' of bad experiences at APS over the last couple of years ...... Initially I attributed it to the previous owner (Frank - who looked at you like you were an idiot, did very little and charged like a wounded bull.) As you may know I have a GPS tracker on the VY so I can see exactly where it goes and when it goes. I can give a few examples where I have booked my car well ahead of time at APS, they get the car and tell me it will be a few days to fix and tell me the car is being worked on now or it's just on a test drive.......... but guess what car hasn't moved or been driven at all since I dropped it off ..... car sits for days and then (after callinga few time) boom alarm tells me its started and I see it finally move into the shop - an hour later get a call - it's all done and on a test drive .......... guess what, not it's not as I can see it off and doing nothing) - but, as I say the tuner Luis is probably one of the best in the business - so you put up with some shit for a good safe tune. But, then it changed hands..... the new owner seems a good bloke and is pretty helpful but some of the issue I have had there since it changed hands has made me think I need to change to somewhere that 'gives a fark' and actually back's their work.

A couple of recent examples: Had a battery drain issue and the 'diagnosis' by APS was the Alternator ......... ok good faith, replace it $$$$ (I did mention it was relatively new and done bugger all km's - maybe 8,000kms). After some time, still having issues with battery - took it back to APS and nope they can't find any problems but still $$$ ........ Battery went flat yet again and I couldn't get VY to APS, so flat trayed it to another bloke locally (who is a legend by the way and bent over backwards for me on a few occasions, where as ASP .......... can take a month to get an audience and you don't always walk away happy....) New bloke takes a look and oh look the battery loom is rooted. Since getting that repaired not an issues since (makes you wonder why I had to replace my alternator - which was less than 5 years old and NOT covered in any nasty fluid of oil crud ..... and side story, I removed the battery about a month later and found the large alternator bolt rolling around under the battery tray ..... clearly they dropped it when replacing alternator and never bothered looking for it and just put another in - Nice.)

You guys might also remember I had some 'issues' with a fuel pump some time ago .......... (ok my bad as the pump I put in was not suited for my car and not purchased/done by APS) ...... so out it all came again. APS replaced that pump for me with a better jobbie ........... but. still had issues. Car went back in and I was charged a stupid amount of money to 're wire' the pump (everything had to come out and go back in again). Still had problems, so back in again ..... tank out, pump out refit blah blah blah - something needed 'tightening' (at this stage I'm at least 2.5k in ........ just on this pump issue). Get the car back and all good for a spell (this was summer last year); As soon as it rains and I drive it in the wet though boom, engine code and fuses blowing ............

I take it back to APS, they 'check it' replace O2 sensors (as this could be the cause according to them ........ Hmmmmm) but nope, they can't find anything 'else' so I need to take it to an auto elec (as they don't have a bloke for that ........ it was also pretty clear at this stage they were over me and the car ...... even though each time I went there the credit card got raped). Can't find any issues with autoelec ....... as soon as it rains, boom fuses engine light. This went on for a while so I stopped driving the old girl in the rain.

Finally crack the shits and take it to a bloke that I used to use years ago ...... I am pretty sure at this stage that the issue is with the O2 sensor loom (as I have eliminated pretty much everything else by this stage and it blows a fuse as soon as I drive thru standing water). Old mate has it maybe an hour and calls me.

"Who did you say have been doing the work on your car?" - so I tell him.

He asks me to come down and shows me the O2 sensor loom that looks like a piece of swiss cheese ........ it seems APS have been checking voltage with a probe and have turned my loom into a pin cushion ........ explains the fuse blowing when I hit water on the road huh (too bad APS didn't peg this way back when they did the O2 sensors.... Hmmmm, or at least when I went back and told them exactly what was happening ..... standing water ........ boom fuse/check engine light). He then shows me one of the O2 sensors that APS 'replaced' and it looks like it's been bashed in place with a freak'n hammer ........ dented, chipped and bent in a way these things should not be bent .......... so at this point I went fark em' .........

It's hard to find someone who won't rape you and won't blow smoke up your jackson ......

I now go to a couple of different blokes (depending on what needs doing)

If you PM me, I can share the contact details - both located my end of the world (Bayswater and Mountain Gate)

I wasn't going to post my experiences with APS ...... but fark it. I do feel wronged and taken for a ride by these fallas (but, eyes wide open I suppose ......... I kept going back because of Luis ......)

    Live and learn.

    Wow!

I have never been there myself but I have spoken to Luis a number of times & as I said, have only heard about great work.

Luis is a great, very helpful guy & top tuner.

I am shocked to hear what happened to you, let's hope the new owner makes improvements.

Totally agree Ed, Luis is the man when it comes to FI tuning, has always been helpful and knows his shit (like most of us old fellas these days though, he is winding down and only working a few days a week, so I am led to believe).

Maybe it was just me and like most trades, when someone doesn't want your business they over charge and care less ......... either way, I'll not be going back there as nearly everything they touched 'mechanically' they did a half arse 'rush' job of ...... they did a tranny cooler replacement for me a few years ago (Franks time) trying to address some cooling issues I had (and still have LOL); Frank talked me into a new you bewt side mount tranny cooler ........ later I found the tranny lines had been run all arse about (rush job) and were in a location where they shouldn't be and were wearing/rubbing on the AC hard lines and causing some leaks (to the AC and tranny fluid) ...... I also found all the mounting brackets and 'loose' nuts/bolts from the old cooler that were not removed during fitting (found this as there was a hell of a rattle at the front end and had to remove the front bar to find and remove all the old 'loose' shit from the old cooler .....). You don't mind paying a premium for good work but as I say, nearly all the mechanical stuff was bodged, rushed and shoddy. Again, maybe Frank just didn't like me .....

Either way, Bzzzzzzz NUP from me from now .......
