Had my VF Calais V serviced last Tuesday (15,000Km service) - noticed today that the boot wouldn't open with the key - just went out and tried the 2 second hold and it opened - would have been nice if they'd told me on Tuesday .

I dont understand the logic of this change. Gonna be a pain if you are out in the pouring rain with an armful of groceries etc

Having come back to my car about 8 times now to find the boot open. I think I understand it. Even with my VT, I found that if I squated near my car with my keys in my jeans pocket the boot would unlock. However with the GenF, the range is far greater (makes the remote start more useful). So climbing under a desk, or pulling up my pants in the loo opens my boot down in the car park. I have got into the habit of pressing the lock button (and listening for the boot/door open horn) every time I pass the stair well that leads to the car park.

fair enough. maybe this change should have been made optional like a few other features of the car (such as the time for lights to stay on when you leave the car etc)

Angry Re: VF Commodore/HSV Owner's Problems & Complaints

SO I came across a website that let’s GM check your software/programming for a given VIN. In my case, my VF GTS appears as a VF Calais.
Here’s how it works. Go to:-
    https://tis2web.service.gm.com/tis2web
    enter VIN
    select Vauxhall or Holden (duh!)
A drop down list appears; I have them below. They start with a letter, and then numbers.
Some I have expanded… Feel free to look, I guess.

I found the K33 HVAC Control Module one:-
Refer Techline TL2331-1307 which addresses the following conditions:
    - Feels too cold unless in high position
    - Not enough increase in temperature when turned up
    - Cabin temperature drifts cooler and needs to be adjusted

I definitely need that one done. The heater sh*ts me.

Anyhoo', here they are. I know no more of them!!

Previously the boot would open immediately after the remote boot release button was pressed,
this was causing some customers to assume that the boot had unintentionally opened, when in
fact the button had been accidently pressed.
The new software requires that the boot button on the remote to be held down for approx 1
    second to open the boot.

Has never been an issue for me. Anyway getting the bcm update today. Wonder what else is changed by the update?

It is perhaps worth adding for everyone's knowledge that this change is a production line change from 9/4/14, with ANY software upgrade of the BCM within a dealership from 7/4/14 introducing this change.

I checked both VIN's for my previous R8 and my next R8and both appear to be from Calais donor cars.

    Re: VF Commodore/HSV Owner's Problems & Complaints

All recent HSVs use a Calais base. The original VN was an Executive so not sure when it changed. I have had the boot open twice as a result of a "pocket" push. Happy to get it changed next service.

There is a rework for these now that doesn't replace the seat base.
It involves the installation of a 13584324- Lateral Fastener Clip.
Plenty of stock is currently available.
