    All jokes aside had three 5L a long while ago now all but one were leak free, the last 5L VL black engine I had was a leaky rear main & one NS cracked head across exhaust port.

    Im rebuilding a bunch of 304s, and there is a gasket kit i purchased from B&B engines in Clayton (About $140 from memory) which has a one piece rubber seal for the sump and intake. Kit looks very good quality and apparently works really well. I can post up some pics if anyone is interested.

    Its a much better kit than the others i have seen...

    Yes they were going that way just before I sold off mine. Can see why they opted for the rubber in preference to the old oem cork gaskets!

    Bah, I missed that bit. I used to keep some home brand oil for my 5L to top up between services. Leaky boat anchor it was.

    Is it getting a stroker kit? 355 kits for them are cheap as chips.

    Nah he just wants a good reliable driver, he's done 200K Km's on that engine..

    Today End!

    Long day, I have everything ready for the machine shop tomorrow if my Shocks are ready to collect.

    Once I was done I played Musical cripple cars so it's all good for now!
